Maria A. Savio
Maria Savio counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property law but focuses her work on trademark, counterfeiting, trade dress, copyright, unfair competition and domain name dispute work. She has extensive litigation experience before federal courts throughout the USA and uses that experience to assert and defend her client’s interests. Her work primarily involves counseling clients in infringement assertion and avoidance. Given her extensive experience with counterfeiting, Ms. Savio is well-versed in extraordinary remedies such as seeking TROs, preliminary injunctions and asset freezes.
Much of Ms. Savio’s work also involves issues pertaining to the Internet and social media. She is intimately familiar with the challenges that trademark owners face in the digital environment and she utilizes all remedies available to combat online infringements. Ms. Savio manages the international trademark portfolios of clients in a host of industries and is thus immersed daily in a global practice. She has developed and implemented strategies for the acquisition and assertion of trademarks throughout the world.
Ms. Savio also has substantial transactional experience and uses her extensive and well-rounded experience to give advice on intellectual property issues that arise in the context of acquisitions, IPOs and intellectual property audits. She also has negotiated and drafted all types of agreements involving intellectual property interests, including licenses and publishing contracts. Ms. Savio is also a patent attorney and is thus able to speak to all types of intellectual property issues facing her clients.
Ms. Savio’s domestic and multinational clients are involved in a wide variety of industries, particularly in the restaurant and food service area, digital marketing and advertising, telecommunications, publishing and media, entertainment, sports, consumer goods, fashion accessories and designer branded goods.
