Her practice is centered on developing practical, business-driven intellectual property strategies that enable clients to protect their innovations, expand into new markets, and effectively enforce their rights on a global scale.

Perla advises clients throughout every stage of the brand lifecycle, from selecting and clearing trademarks to building and managing worldwide trademark portfolios, negotiating commercial transactions, enforcing intellectual property rights, and resolving high-stakes disputes. Her practice encompasses trademark prosecution, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, federal litigation, copyright matters, licensing, unfair competition, false advertising, domain name disputes, anti-counterfeiting initiatives, and gray market enforcement.

With a practice that spans North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, Perla is particularly sought after by international companies seeking to establish, protect, and enforce their brands in the United States, as well as U.S. companies expanding into foreign markets. She develops comprehensive international trademark strategies, advises clients on the interplay of global intellectual property laws and treaties, and coordinates multinational filing and enforcement programs with trusted counsel throughout the world.

A recognized authority in global brand enforcement, Perla has extensive experience combating trademark infringement and counterfeiting through coordinated investigations, customs actions, and civil enforcement proceedings. She works closely with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and foreign customs authorities to intercept counterfeit and gray market goods and has directed cross-border enforcement efforts in numerous jurisdictions around the world.

Perla also serves as a trusted advisor in complex commercial transactions involving intellectual property. She regularly negotiates and drafts trademark licenses, coexistence agreements, distribution agreements, sponsorship and co-branding agreements, settlement agreements, and other arrangements that enable clients to maximize the value of their intellectual property while minimizing legal and commercial risk.

Over the course of her career, Perla has represented clients across a wide range of industries, including luxury goods, fashion, food and beverage, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, financial services, industrial manufacturing, energy, automation, technology, and consumer electronics. Her experience includes representing internationally recognized brands in federal trademark litigation, defending trade dress and infringement claims, advising multinational companies on U.S. trademark strategy, negotiating cross-border intellectual property acquisitions and distribution agreements, and protecting well-known brands before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to joining GRR, Perla was a partner at an internationally recognized, full-service law firm, where she represented clients in a broad range of complex intellectual property matters.
